RESIMARMO® Italia

will recruit 75 people

The “BtoB” sales department of RESIMARMO® Italia was for too long the poor relation of the company. 17 salesmen for all of Italy were really not sustainable anymore. The choice to sell from the outset by e-commerce is partly responsible for this situation. But a decision comes to an end. RESIMARMO® Italia wants to have a sales force, in charge of prospecting new customers and establishing privileged commercial relationships with existing customers.

We found that customers, having placed their trust in us for the first time, did not systematically renew this trust in a second purchase or project.

This situation was experienced badly by RESIMARMO® employees, who feel very involved in the company’s success. This was the subject of several letters opened to the management at the end of July 2017, and in the Professional News of the same period. Management noted this and, after much discussion, reacted quickly.

To study this new provision, sales managers were called back from vacation to attend a one-day seminar where they were introduced to this new provision. After explaining the project to everyone and finding that most of them agreed, management decided to push the project further.

The marble resin - Resin pot RESIFIX

Marble resin

A marble resin is a polymeric product (natural, artificial or synthetic) that is a basic material for the manufacture of plastics, textiles, paints (liquid or powder), adhesives, varnishes, polymer foams, etc. It can be thermoplastic or thermosetting.

A solid or semi-fluid, vitreous, flammable, water-insoluble, yellow or brown-coloured organic substance, spontaneous or induced exudation of certain plants, particularly conifers and terebinthaceous plants (this substance extracted from pine and fir).

Pine resin

Pine resin.

We don’t say “plastics”anymore, we say “resin.”

In a reinforced plastic material, marble resin, also known as a matrix, is a very fluid or highly viscous matrix, used as a binder to make contact between the various reinforcing particles, such as fibres, balls or microspheres (small spherical geometry particle with a diameter of the order of one micrometer[between 1 µm and 1 mm]. The micro-spheres are sometimes called “micro-particles” or “microbead” of glass.
For example, SMC (Sheet Moulding Compound) prepregs include polyester resin, reinforcement (matt, fabric or fibre), fillers and a pre-mixed catalyst (hardener). This ready-moulded mixture for hot compression molding is in sheet form.

Since the term “plastic” has a pejorative connotation for some consumers, the word “resin” is often used by manufacturers in place of “plastic” and marble resin follows the same logic.

The SPI coding system for the identification of resins is a code developed in 1988 by the Society of the Plastics Industry to facilitate the sorting and recycling of plastic bottles and containers.

It is adopted in Germany as DIN 6120, then in Europe, and is applied voluntarily by manufacturers, but must nevertheless comply with a precise codification in accordance with a European Commission decision of 28 January 1997 (97/129/EC).

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

A maintenance work must be carried out regularly on the treated roofs according to the intended use.

This work includes the following tasks :

  • Leaf removal
  • Grass, dirt, moss and other vegetation removal
  • Keeping storm water system in good working order.
  • Ensure gratings are in place, in order to prevent gutter obstructions.
  • Check proper condition of several structures (flashing, seams, retaining walls…)
  • Verification of possible damages due to improper use.

If an esthetic appearance of the roof is an important issue, it is essential to regularly clean the surface with water (some mild detergent may be added), according to the use.

It may be necessary to reapply decorative layers (RESIMPER, RESIPROTEC) if they are worn out due to traffic, weather, corrosion, etc.

For stain removal, a surface treatment with RESIGLIDE or isopropyl alcohol may be attempted. Strong acids are totally inadequate. Some solvents may damage the membrane. If this happens, the affected area has to be cut and repaired with a new RESIMPER application.

RESIFIX

The RESIFIX resin is a compound binder of polyuréthane, liquid elastomer, aliphatiques, even hardening to the humidity, solvent, calm to cold weather. The product “measured out” well with aggregates of marble, produces a flexible dough that permits to achieve coatings of soils as inside as outside. There is not an ungainly joint, the surface is flexible, non-skid and permits an excellent draining. The different hues of marble used offer the possibility to get multiple effects of color, the geometric motives, the strips or the changes of coloration in a same surface.
