What is marble granulate/stone carpet ?

Marble granulate mixed with resin is a decorative, draining floor covering. Different natural shades can be combined, and lighting can even be incorporated.
We are here to advise you, but it is you who decides on the decor you want in your home. The only limit is your imagination!
It is used outdoors:
  • Terrace
  • Pool deck
  • Car park
  • Pedestrian access, light vehicles, etc.
Rolled marble granulate is very comfortable to the touch and can be walked on barefoot. Thanks to its draining properties, puddles are eliminated and even when wet, the marble granulate remains non-slip. It can also be used indoors:Solvent-free polyurethane resins are mainly used to avoid odour problems during application, and another polyurethane resin is used to apply a protec. A marble granulate floor totally changes the appearance of your surfaces. See the Before / After views below. Move the round cursor to see the changes. Have fun !

Preparing the substrate

The concrete substrate must be at least 28 days old and must be planed or shot-blasted to remove the concrete laitance and open up the porosity. t must be thoroughly vacuumed. The substrate must be resistant and free of grease, oil, fatty acid residues, etc. Always apply to a dry and sound substrate: maximum 4% moisture content and 25 MPa compressive strength, with a tensile strength of 1.5 MPa. The substrate temperature must be between 10°C and 35°C, but care must be taken to always apply the RESIPRIMER primer at 3°C above the dew point. The humidity must be between 30% and 80%. Origins of our aggregate

Our marble aggregate undergoes a crushing and rolling operation. It’s the result of crushing pure marble blocks, not recycled quarry cuttings or rubble. On the contrary, they are quarried from the mountains in huge blocks all over Italy.

Quality of our aggregate

Rolled aggregate (naturally eroded by rolling) is also easier to apply, compact and smooth. What’s more, it offers greater walking comfort and a pleasant feel underfoot. It undergoes further operations, washing and drying, to ensure perfect adhesion with our resins. Finally, we recommend the use of 1/4 mm aggregate for this genuine “marble carpet”. We can also offer you finer granulometries (the smallest is “marble sand”, and the smallest is “marble dust”). We can also supply larger grain sizes (e.g. 4/8 mm or 10/12 mm) for garden applications (waterfalls, streams, flowerbeds, tree surrounds, etc.).

Implementation :

Calculation data :

  • Adhesion primer – RESIPRIMER: 0,200 Kg par m²
  • Marble aggregate : 17 Kg per m² thickness: 1 cm
  • Resin to mix with aggregates – RESIFIX : 1,250 kg resin per 25 kg
  • Protective resin – RESIPROTEC : 0,200 Kg per m²

GENERAL FORMULAS

Weight of marble aggregate required per m²

17 kg per m² X (Thickness) = Weight per m²

Cost of marble aggregate per m²

Weight per m² X Price of 25kg bag / Weight of one bag Cost per m².

Cost of RESIPRIMER per m²

Quantity of RESIFIX required (kg/m²)

Weight per m² X 1,250 kg de RESIFIX per bag / 25 Kg = quantity required RESIFIX

Cost of RESIFIX /m2

Quantity of RESIFIX required X Price of RESIFIX = Cost of RESIFIX

Cost of RESIPROTEC per m²
